Water Crisis

There is a lot of water on earth. More than land we have water here and it's also true that 71% of Earth's surface is covered with water. Oceans hold about 96.5% of water which is salty and unsuitable for drinking, while the rest is in the form of Lakes, Rivers, underground water, glaciers, water vapours, etc.
Only 2.5% of Earth's water is drinkable out of which only 1% is accessible for drinking and even this 1 percent is getting polluted and wasted at an exponential rate.
The Condition has reached to the point that Day zero is declared in many cities around the world.

Day Zero is the day on which all the taps in the city will run out of water. The water supply will be cut. Schools and industries will shut down in some conditions. People will be delivered limited water just enough for their survival.
  • 11 April, 2018 was the Day Zero for Capetown
  • Bangluru, Hyderabad and 20 other cities of India to run out of water in 2020.

According to WHO
  • 844 Million people lack even basic Water facilities.
  • Atleast 2 Billion People use drinking water source contaminated with faeces.
  • Contaminated drinking water causes 502,000 diarrhoeal deaths each year.
  • In Low and Middle Income Countries 38% of health care services lack improved water facility.
Atleast 1 person every Four hours dies due to contaminated water in India.

Water Scarcity is not a recent problem. We all have been hearing that the water is limited we must save it, water is life, everywhere since birth. But now it is not just on paper but also in reality.
We must act now to protect our children and give them the pleasure of drinking pure refreshing cool water.

We all are so eager when we are soaked in sweat in this hot summer, when we work hard in the ground, when we have chillies in our mouth, what we ask is Water.
We must not let this pleasure be taken away by our very own wrong deeds.
We must not only pledge but actually save every tiny drop of water while watering our plants, taking showers, washing our cars, etc.

Tell us in the Comments Your ways of water conservation.

Water is our tragedy,
Water is our cure.
Only if used properly
And conserved more.
